In season two of the Gospel for Life podcast, we’ll be talking about the eight habits from my book 8 Habits for Growth.
The first habit is Make Time. The idea is to make time regularly for what matters most, including developing and practicing Christian life habits.
I spoke to Reagan Rose, the creator of Redeeming Productivity, a website and podcast that assists Christians in being more productive for God's glory. He explores productivity from a Christian perspective by using Scriptures to develop a unique Christian belief system regarding work, family, efficiency, technology, and setting goals.
You can listen to the episode below.
Key Ideas
- We’re overly connected and stimulated. We face many opportunities competing for our attention.
- We are finite creatures who want to do more than our limits allow.
- Our time is God’s, not ours. Our responsibility is to use it well.
- Embracing our limits is a key step in using our time well.
- One of the keys to productivity is learning to say no.
- To use your time well, begin by understanding that you exist to glorify God.
- We live in a world that’s been damaged by sin. Work and productivity will be hard in this broken world.
- To build habits, start simple, and build from there.
- We may struggle to build good habits, but we still need to learn discipline. It’s essential to the Christian life.
- A morning routine and consistent sleep can help in building habits.
- We have enough time to do what God has called us to do.
